I'm from the USA - where is my drop 3 order?
Your order is packed and ready to go! We didn't have much luck with Australia Post's 3rd party partner, so as of 22rd Oct 2025, we're switching gears and partnering with DHL Express. Once we ship these parcels, it should take 3-5 days to reach you. Thanks again for your patience!
When are Hero cloaks back in stock?
2026! Subscribe to our newsletter (at the bottom of the website) to be notified of drop dates.
We do not have a separate mailing list for cloaks.
Can I be alerted via text?
Unfortunately, you'll have to set your own reminders & alerts.
Are you doing pre-orders / waiting list?
No, sorry! We've definitely considered doing pre-orders, but it just doesn’t quite fit how we work.
Preorders are great for brands that need to gauge interest or manage sizes so they don't over-produce. Since we're a small team making stuff by hand, we already decide on the number of cloaks for each drop beforehand.
The panic to secure a cloak would just shift to a panic to get on the pre-order list.
For now, we’d rather focus on how we can make more for the next drop.
What size should I get?
The best way to find your cloak size is based on your height. If you want longer or shorter sleeves you may consider going up or down a size.
Sizes we recommend based on the wearer's height:
S 155cm-169cm
M 170-179cm
L 180cm-200cm
So even if you're usually an XL, the L may still be right for you. Each of our models on the Hero Cloak page have a different size on. Their heights are listed in the "Specs" section for reference.
How waterproof is it?
The Hero Cloak is made from deadstock canvas, so unfortunately we don’t have the technical specs of the fabric. That said, we've tested it on multiple trips (albeit, in Australian conditions) and think it holds up just as well or better than modern Gore-Tex. It's great for light-medium rain, and the occasional heavy downpour. If you sit in a puddle it will seep through the material eventually. We probably wouldn't recommend it in prolonged torrential downpour or (God forbid) a hurricane.
Over time, you could try waxing it to maintain its water-resistance. But keep in mind, nothing stays waterproof forever.

Do you do pre-orders?
Not at the moment, sorry. We make everything in small quantities by hand so pre-orders don’t really make sense for us. This extra admin would also take time away from sewing.
Where can I buy your products?
We don’t have a physical store, but we occasionally host pop-up drop parties in Melbourne, Australia. Follow our socials, or subscribe to our newsletter (at the bottom of our site) to stay updated on upcoming events.
Can I pick up my order?
Generally no, as we make everything at our house. Buuut if you're visiting Melbourne from overseas, we could try to work something out! Let us know when you're in town: howdy@banjovalley.com.au
If you know us personally, please don't pay for shipping. Message us for a special code!

Do you ship to my country?
Probably! We ship via Australia Post. You'll be sent a tracking number when we ship your order.
If your location isn't currently available at checkout, send an email to howdy@banjovalley.com.au and we'll do our best to add it.
For international delivery times, check Australia Post. You may experience prolonged delays due to customs checks outside of our control.
Will I have to pay customs/duties on my order?
Depends on where you live. All orders are dispatched from Melbourne, Australia.
For our US customers, tariffs are shown and paid for at checkout. Hopefully that means no surprise fees when your product arrives.
For other countries, duties and taxes might still apply when your order arrives. They're set by your country’s customs and will need to be paid on your end – unfortunately we don’t get to control this :(
Refusal to pay customs taxes or duties may result in the parcel being returned to us, in which case we reserve the right to charge customers any shipping fees associated.
Banjo Valley is legally obliged to declare the full value of each order.
What if my parcel gets lost/stolen?
We'll arrange for 'signature on delivery' for orders over $100AUD and all International orders.
All international orders are shipped via Australia Post. You'll receive an email confirmation with your tracking number once your order is dispatched. In the unlikely case of your parcel getting lost, we'll most likely refund you as we make products in limited quantities and don't always have replacement stock on hand.
Unfortunately, we can’t take responsibility for stolen parcels after the order is marked 'Delivered', but we know it’s a terrible feeling. If this happens, email us howdy@banjovalley.com.au and we'll figure something out.
What if I live in your local area?
If your shipping address is within 5km of Camberwell, (VIC Australia) you can select the free local delivery option.
Can I return a product & get a refund?
Change of mind - Australian orders only.
So you’ve had a change of mind or it doesn’t fit. That’s a shame, but we’ve all been there. If you return it to us within 14 days in original condition you’ll get a full refund or store credit.
You'll have to post at your own expense, or drop it off. We're not liable for returns that are lost in transit if tracking is not provided to us.
For international customers, all sales are final so choose your sizes wisely. We'll usually write detailed measurements in the product's 'specs' section to help with this, and you can always email us if you're really stuck.
Faulty/damaged products
All our products are handmade with care, but in the event that you do receive a faulty item, please send us an email with your order number and a photo/video of the fault for us to assess. If your item is approved for a repair, replacement or refund, we'll provide you with a return postage label or refund you for the cost of returning the item to us.
Please message us first at howdy@banjovalley.com.au before sending anything back to us.
Do you do warranties or repairs?
If there is a non-cosmetic defect in the materials or workmanship of our product, we’re happy to replace, refund or repair it for free in the first year.
We can't offer refunds and exchanges for faults cause by misuse, like if you set your Hero Cloak on fire for some reason.
Even our gear will eventually wear out - when it does, we’ll do what we can to repair it. We want to keep our gear out there as long as possible! There may be a small cost and we’ll quote you first. You'll have to post at your own expense.
Email us with your order number at howdy@banjovalley.com.au to start the process.
